Hi, I’m Samir Rayhan — the cook, writer, and heart behind Meemaw’s Recipe.
Welcome to my cozy corner of the internet, where stories simmer and flavors speak louder than words. Meemaw’s Recipe is more than a food blog — it’s a tribute to the kitchen memories that shaped me, the traditions I honor, and the new dishes I discover along the way.
The idea behind this blog was as spontaneous as a midnight snack craving. I never planned to create a cooking website — until one day, my grandmother (my Meemaw) nudged me to share the recipes we’d cherished for years. Inspired by her warmth — and, yes, by the beloved Meemaw character from Young Sheldon — I named this blog Meemaw’s Recipe, in her honor.
She not only inspired the name, but also helped shape the spirit of this space — comforting, creative, and real.
🥘 What You’ll Find Here
I write about food in all its glory — not just as sustenance, but as a soulful experience. On this blog, you’ll find:
- Quick, budget-friendly recipes for busy days
- Weeknight favorites that feel fancy but are easy to make
- Comfort food that brings people together
- Nutritious meals that don’t sacrifice taste
- Indulgent treats (because balance matters!)
- Cooking tips, substitutions, and flavor tricks to level up any dish
From a crisp Grilled Chicken Caesar Cobb Salad to a gooey, deep-dish Nutella cookie, every recipe is designed to be approachable, satisfying, and tested in my own kitchen.
My Philosophy on Food
Like many, I once had a rocky relationship with food — stuck between crash diets and guilt. Now, I cook and eat with joy, not restriction. I believe in real ingredients, practical methods, and nourishing meals that you can actually enjoy.
Whether you’re making a wholesome breakfast or a rich dinner, Meemaw’s Recipe is here to help you fall in love with cooking again.
For the Home Cook in Everyone
This site is for:
- The busy parent who wants flavor without fuss.
- The student learning to cook beyond noodles.
- The foodie who loves restaurant-style meals at home.
- And anyone who believes that food brings people together.
No fancy tools. No specialty stores. Just everyday ingredients, clear instructions, and recipes that work.
A Note to You
Everything I share here is from my personal experience — not professional advice. While I aim to keep things simple, fun, and delicious, always consult your healthcare provider for dietary or nutrition-related questions.
Thank you for being here. Whether you’re just browsing or cooking along, you’re always welcome at Meemaw’s table.
